When Amy contacted Sunrise Landscape Services to revitalize her yard, we happily accepted the challenge. Amy was very clear on the vision she had for her front yard landscape and flower bed. She wanted a look that accented her home and provided a timeless modern aesthetic. In just seven business days, our team transformed her outdoor space into an inviting, fresh and modern landscape.
A large portion of this project consisted of the site preparation work and the removal of the pre existing outdated landscape. The original area was full of dead plants, stumps and rotting mulch. So, we began by removing the outdated flower bed to make room for the new! We also did all of our welding for the corten steel boxes off site at our shop. Special consideration was taken during this project to ensure we did not disrupt any neighbors, or damage Amy's lawn during the construction process.
As we began to put this vision together, we created two raised Blue Lueders limestone block beds that add structure and elegance. These raised beds were created to add some definition and height to the front of the home while also creating the feel of privacy along the front porch. The flower beds stand nearly two feet tall and extend the entire length of the front patio at nearly 75 feet long. These raised beds were then filed with compost for future plants. We also modified the current sprinkler system and installed drip line along the top of the flower bed to provide efficient water.
Next, we custom-welded a corten steel mailbox and several matching planters; all crafted to bring a touch of industrial charm. We built two large steel planters that are now the home to two lovely Crepe Myrtle trees. While two additional small steel boxes hold her annual flowers. Amy wanted the steel to blend in seamlessly with the landscape while also creating a statement piece. And that's exactly what we achieved- as Amy has since told us how neighbors and strangers will often stop by to compliment her mailbox and planters.
The final step for our team was adding the blend of various ground cover. Initially we installed a professional grade weed barrier, to ensure any pesky weeds wont grow. We then used three different stone types to create definition and pops of color. We used Black Star granite, large River Rock, and Crushed Granite to fill the interior space.
The project included the installation of a stone border and various stone ground covers to enhance durability and visual appeal. Each element was carefully chosen to complement the modern design of the home and follow the timeless vision that Amy had. On this project we set out to ensure a seamless and cohesive look along the front side of the home. Amy plans to add plants and flowers herself, over time, as gardening is a passion of hers. This project provided a perfect solution for Amy to achieve her modern yet timeless flowerbed and front yard.
This transformation was completed on a budget of approximately $7,000 and reflects our dedication to craftsmanship and attention to detail. Amy’s updated landscape is now a low-maintenance, stylish and modern flowerbed ready for her gardening passion to blossom.
